Maddox is now Commander. It should be an era of peace for Themis. But when the nightmarish dreams of Anya continue, he finds his powers growing weaker, his desire for her growing stronger, and, on top of it all, Dreik is building an army.

           To soothe the brewing tensions in the realm, Maddox and the rest of the gang: Catherine, Jaf, and Seth embark on an inaugural tour with the added task of tracking down Dreik before the lunar eclipse. Yet, for Maddox, the mission isn’t about lessening the division between the Watchers and the Guardians, it’s to understand exactly what Anya’s puzzling messages mean, where he can find her, and what the Dark Prophecy foretells for the Prodigal and for Themis.

           When the gang sets off on their journey and as Maddox becomes more familiar with the territory he now rules, he beings to realize how deeply rooted their society is in the beliefs of Edom and just how little he knows of Themis’s past and of his own.

           In and out of the Land of Nod, Maddox endures poignant experiences where he must learn the value of acceptance, closure, and love while also discovering what is really brewing beneath Themis’s surface.
